01. Patch Notes: The Time Line.

Alright--- so now we're really picking up steam and some people have finally popped over to Harpeah. So I think it's about time for some "Patch Notes."
MAIN SUBJECT: TiMELINES
TIMELINES. There have been a lot of people questioning "Timelines" "WHEN" "HOW" etc. The Game "started" on March 13. Forums allow us to go backwards and forwards into time (haha time mages...) and players are welcome to post before, or write in plotline posts between things. Such as a freak meeting meeting a new person who wasn't here when game started, but is apart of the game now in real time.
I am going to write up a small "timeline" in Patch Notes so you can see how I see things as they stand. A "living" timeline with posts. However, due to many other things (like GAMING) the thread may not always be "up to date"... players can assist by putting timeline information in the subject/topic line or in the body of the post. <3 but it's not required if you don't care.)

First, In the next few days I will be putting up NPC profiles for some of the people who are obviously key to things, including Jane Hawkins and Gor for Seattle, and Zurumama (Sue) and Takashi (So. Cali). There is also going to be profiles for the Director, Agent in Charge Smith (FBI) and no doubt a few other lovely NPCS coming into the game to help "buff out the ranks" these profiles can be found- or will be found- in the Gallery.
Second, in the next few days there will be a new section added to earth - News and Media. This will be the outlet for the information going around Earth- including the "Extra Entertainment Gone Wrong at Disneyland" that is the thread where Cali and Vanessa go with Takashi and four other little humans to Harpeah. The four little humans are going to be ties for future players if so desired. Either way this will keep the news flowing around Earth to the different changes and hopefully give things for other characters, and new characters, something to latch onto in character.
Third, today (yup! today!) I set up the First Harpeah board. I will be adding "locations" as they are needed and people journey. The Harpeah boards are invisible UNLESS you are apart of the group. (I tested it, it seems legit.) My Admins and Mods can see them on their admin account for moderation/admin purposes only so please only post if your character has legitly wandered to Harpeah. This allows us to "invite" people to play- on Earth and somehow have them naturally go into Harpeah without it being a forced issue. It also allows the Harpeah plot lines to remain a mystery to those who are not there. When in Harpeah, you can read other harpeah threads- if you wish, but it is in no way required, unless your a mod or admin. (In which case, you signed up for it.
)
Finally in the future I'm going to be adjusting the "mingle" and shoving players who want to be apart of it to start actually using it to OOCly tie YOUR characters together. There's no reason why certain characters in their own professions wouldn't know of other names and faces famous in various businesses, or social circles. The MINGLE is to allow people OOCly to tie people together IN THE PAST so they can find direction IN THE NOW/FUTURE. Even if someone has already gone to Harpeah, you and the other person can still link through a Mingle for later.
And last but not least, is the player "homework"
Find a reason why your character is tied to Harpeah. Webcast viewing, you had a friend lost to it.... you just love the paranormal... WHATEVER. My job is to provide story. not drag your characters screaming and hising out of their dark apartments or from school by the hair saying "Come with me now!" Frankly the game is set up that to come to Harpeah it has to be YOUR CHARACTERS CHOICE. So do you and I a favor. Get some goals. Try to find someone, or something that ties your character tot he plotline and do not expect me to haul you through and drag you by the hand. I love you all- we have no new players yet- so none of you are new new to this dog and pony show except Peter- and he has Zurumama to assist him.
~.^ That wasn't an attack on one particular person, I just don't want to have to keep hauling people around. You shut down a thread, you put your character in a box, that's ok... you aren't stuck with that particular character- most of you are actually already in harpeah anyway (... Did I mention the reason your not playing yourselves is before for old people, you already ARE stuck there?

PS: A personal note.
I don't expect you all to post every day. Do not expect 'me' to post every day. I have the honor, and privilege of posting for 'everyone of you' and sometimes that means I'm posting 3 to 5 times more then you do. (and that ratio gets bigger as more people come to play). I do my best to keep up, and I'm going to be hiring/recruiting/loving on people to assist on becoming plot-movers to keep things going when I don't post. But please... It's very difficult on 'me' when people scream at me "Joy look at the cbox" when I'm working at work, or at home trying to cook dinner. I love you all. If I could play Harpeah 24x7 by GOD I would! But I have responsibilities, as much as all of you have responsibilities. I do the best I can.
Prime example was last night, I was on skype with Yavie and bless him to bits, Mom called with a crisis downstairs and I left for forty five minutes- and he stayed waiting for me 'the entire time' (sorry again!!) ... This isn't uncommon... I am doing the best I can and, again, I want to be here. But I start feeling overwhelmed and very, very guilty for not posting or being here or whatever, and I shut down. I hate it. But it's what happens. So please. Be understanding and encouraging but don't be negative when I don't post back and forth or if I try to help and get called away to chase my responsibilities. I have other loves (Swimming, reading, art, sleeping...) that also need attention. As much as Harpeah. So while I LOVE that people want me here 24x7 as they are around... that's simply not going to happen.
I will do my best to post once a day. I will do my best to keep up the administrative/storytelling/system/plot-line Stuff that has to happen behind the game to keep it going.. (Most table top games storytellers usually spend 2-3 hours planning for each 4 hour session for 3-7 players... imagine my job!) ... I will do my best to return messages (PMS, Skype, etc) and I will do my best to be active on the board and cbox.
If that's not good enough... well... my heartfelt apologies. I think each of every one person playing has a Joy story that involves me not doing what i said I would. You can compare them when I'm up to my neck in stress, guilt, and exhaustion because I stayed up until midnight trying to finish something. <3
If Love was enough, you all would be surrounded by it until you smothered.
