How to Build an Ally (or Team)
Certain Bonuses at creation and through gaming will allow you to "earn" Allies. Allies are people who would live, or die for you or your cause. In our Game Ally's are PC's players themselves can play. It's 'assumed' an Ally is loyal and often communicates to the main character your playing who's attached to the ally. It's perfectly ok to have a friend play your Ally too- but they may not take live or die for you thing as seriously as if you, yourself played them.
At Creation an Ally MUST be a human from Earth- as the only way to get an Ally is through the "Independently Wealthy" merit. This may be a butler, a maid, a pseudo parent, nanny, best friend, etc. They are human, and thus, would also experience The Change with your character if they journey to Harpeah. It is ok to have your ALLY Stay on earth- and potentially follow later.
In Game, all Ally's are picked up in character through story-lines after they are bought out of character with EXP points. Likewise, picking an Ally up on either Earth or Harpeah (or anywhere else) happens in character- though you devise the story-line if you want to how they are found (with ST permissions of course.)
Your Ally, Besides having a character sheet like your own- can't access any BONUS moves of their own. They have a particular "Motivation" that is how they "think and interact" with your main character. Acceptable motivations include:
•Ally: subordinate (motivation: to follow your exact instructions)
•Ally: lieutenant (motivation: to execute the spirit of your instructions)
•Ally: friend (motivation: to provide emotional support)
•Ally: bodyguard (motivation: to intercept danger)
•Ally: confidante (motivation: to give you advice and perspective)
•Ally: backup (motivation: to stand with you)
In Addition you can pick up an "Animal Ally"
Animal Ally
Animal allies follow the normal rules for allies, except for communication. Your animal ally can understand commands as well as a very clever dog (regardless of what sort of animal it is).
Animals who come to Harpeah gain the ability to shape-shift into humans- they are considered "Shapeshifters"- if a bit wilder then their cousins. Like humans who maintain their humanity, the few Animals who cross over and Remain Animals are considered little more then food or target practice- for the most part.
Animals who are found in Harpeah are very smart creatures but never gain the ability to shapeshift into humans and are "very" animal like.
Building a Team/Clan/Sept/Agency etc[/font]
Yes, in our game there's a "way" to build a team of NPCs to horde behind your main character...
They basically follow the same principles of the above rules for allies.
Teams must be approved and are there for storytelling purposes.
